Ontario realtor compliance calendar

The recurring deadlines that suspend a registration when they slip. Some are the same date for everyone in the province; some run off your own registration cycle. This page separates the two and works out yours.

The same for everyone

RECO professional liability insurance

The insurance term runs September 1 to August 31 and every registrant is on the same cycle. The 2026-27 term is $500. Pay after August 14 and a $35 administrative fee is added.

The annual mandatory update course is released

RECO publishes one mandatory update course a year, typically in January. It is not due in January - it counts toward the cycle you are in - but taking it when it appears is what stops two of them landing in the same month two years later.

October 30, 2026one time
First brokerage annual financial filing

Covers fiscal years ending between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026. The portal opens October 1, which is not the deadline. After this one, filings are due 90 days after each fiscal year end. Brokerage obligation, attested personally by the broker of record.

Missed: prosecution, up to revocation of the brokerage registration

CREA cooperation policy: the 3-day MLS rule

Not a calendar date. Any public marketing of a listing starts a three-day clock to put it on the MLS, unless the seller has signed a written exclusion. A lawn sign counts. A social post counts.

Yours specifically

The dates nobody can publish for you

Registration runs on a two-year cycle from your own date, so every list of "Ontario realtor deadlines" you have read was wrong for you on this one. Enter yours and it works out the rest. Nothing is sent anywhere.

On your RECO registration certificate, or in MyWeb. RECO also emails reminders at 60, 30 and 10 days.
Which registration cycle is this?
Continuing education only applies from your second two-year cycle onward. In your first, it does not.
Optional. Leave blank if you are not the broker of record. Take it from the corporate filings rather than memory.

Your dates

Enter your registration expiry date and the rest fills in.

What this leaves out

And why

Board dues are not here. TRREB and every other board set their own schedules and publish them behind member login, so anything on this page would be a guess wearing the clothes of a fact. Check your own board.

The insurance deadline is written here only for terms RECO has actually announced. It has sat in mid-August for years, which is a pattern rather than a publication, and a compliance page that extrapolates a date is the kind of thing people find out about the hard way. RECO is the authority on every date here; this page is a summary and it can go stale.

Deal deadlines are the other half. These are the ones the regulator sets. Condition periods, irrevocable dates and the three-day clock are set by your deals - and there is a calculator for those.
